Sand in the City: Portland’s living room gets dirty

July 16th, 2013

Portlanders love going to the coast. But they also love it when the coast comes to Portland.

On July 19-21, truckloads of sand will arrive at Pioneer Courthouse Square for Portland’s largest sand castle building event that includes majestic sand sculptures, interactive youth exhibits, live entertainment and more.

Yoshida’s Sand in the City 2013 is an all volunteer, non-profit organization committed to furthering the well-being of children in the greater Portland Metropolitan area through proceeds generated by an annual sand castle building event and  competition.

You can participate as a volunteer, competitor, or spectator. Bring a camera – these castles are always something special to see and share with out of town friends.
