Portland hosts 25th Annual Oregon Brewer’s Fest

July 25th, 2012

The 25th annual Oregon Brewer’s Festival comes to Portland this weekend, as the city hosts some 84 breweries, over a dozen food establishments and several dozen other craft beer related vendors on Waterfront Park.

The festival opens with a Brewer’s Dinner on Wednesday evening (sold out), where patrons rub mugs with brewery representatives including brewmasters, publicans and hopmeisters. Several brewer’s brunches and a brewer’s parade kick off Thursday’s festivities, ending at the festival kickoff itself at noon with the ceremonial keg-tapping by a local dignitary.

The festival runs from noon to nine p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and from noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free but tastings require purchase of a commemorative festival mug and tokens. For more information, see oregonbrewfest.com.
