Portland Walking Tours is back with a series of walks offering a guided glimpse of the Rose City, Portland, Ore. The tours have won various awards including: “Best City Tours,” “Best of Portland,” and “Top 10 Things to Do this Summer,” by national and local media. From culture fiends and architecture buffs to wine lovers and foodies, the 2008 tour season will appeal to visitors and natives alike.

  • Best of Portland – Sometimes referred to by fans as the “Portland 101″ tour, this walk explores the city’s art and architecture, as well as issues of livability, transit and Portland culture. The tour route works its way through the downtown shopping hub, the shady elm trees of the Park Blocks and ends with a stroll along the waterfront.
  • Underground Portland – A treat for lovers of all things sinister – crime, scandal and unsavory characters – the Underground Portland tour winds through Old Town, exposing the sordid side of the fair city of Portland. In the end, walkers are led beneath the floorboards to check out entrances to the legendary “Shanghai Tunnels” and explore the dark underbelly of the city.
  • Beyond Bizarre – Armed with real ghost hunting equipment, walkers will meander down shadowy streets to reveal Portland’s weird, wacky and paranormal side. Those brave enough to encounter the creepy crawl will play witness to outer-worldly things most never experience.
  • Epicurean Excursion -This culinary journey through the Pearl District leads walkers behind-the-scenes to taste, sip and savor some of our city’s finest flavors. From the award-winning Bridgeport Brewery to fresh, local ingredients in the back room of the Pearl Bakery, the Epicurean Excursion is the perfect way to get a “taste” of Portland.
