2009: Star-Studded Year for Film-Making in Oregon

Oregon took down its biggest year yet from film, television and commercial production fees in 2009 with estimated total spending in the state around $62 million. These four major films were released with ties to Oregon: Coraline, was not only crafted by Portland-based Laika studios, but the animated family also moves to Oregon; The Road was filmed on the Oregon coast; Burning Plain, with Charlize Theron, used exterior shots of Portland and Depoe Bay; and of course The Twilight Saga: New Moon.

And releases this year will include: the TV show Leverage, Extraordinary Measures with Harrison Ford, and Something Wicked with Brittany Murphy.
