Keeping Portland weird, artsy, and naked

June 7th, 2013

Just when you thought Portland had gotten as weird as it could be, it goes and surprises you.

The World Naked Bike Ride and the Portland Art Museum are teaming up this year to keep Portland cycling, naked, and immersed in the arts.

On Saturday, June 8, cyclists will get a special deal to see “Cyclepedia,” from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., when the naked ride begins.

What’s the special deal?

The price of admission to the show is $1 per item of clothing. That means no clothes — no charge.

Then, when the show’s over, they hop on their bikes and ride, similarly adorned.

And if that’s not enough nekkidness…

At the same time “Cyclepedia” runs, museum patrons also can view “Man/Woman” — bronze sculptures of nudes by Gaston Lachaise.

Suit up, Portland… er… suit down?
