Meet Portland’s Ben Robison, professional ghost hunter

October 23rd, 2013

Professional ghost-hunter Ben Robison – founder of the non-profit organization, Autonomous Studies of the Enigmatic and Paranormal – wasn’t always hunting in dark basements for evidence of the supernatural, as he will be on Way Beyond Bizarre tours that begin Thursday, October 24 at 6:30 and 9:30 PM.

“I’m just a regular guy who enjoys hanging with friends – family, fishing, boating, sports, music, hiking, wilderness survival and life in general,” he says. But he a chance experience confronted him and changed his life.

“I, like many other people out there, experienced something so profound and unimaginable that I was left with only one option…look at it closer.”

When he isn’t joining the fun, intense Way Beyond Bizarre special ghost-hunting tours offered only at this time of year – by far one of the best things to do in Portland for Halloween – Ben works a high-tech job by day and then applies his tech-savvy skills to the investigation of the paranormal.

“We all have questions,” he says. “My aim is to try to offer some answers by taking a scientific approach with a healthy dose of skepticism and appreciation for the good and evil sides of the spiritual world.”

You can learn some of Ben’s techniques and see him demonstrate his cool high-tech ghost hunting gear on the Way Beyond Bizarre tour, starting Thursday, Oct 24 thru Halloween weekend (that’s November 2 for those without quick access to a calendar.)
