Portland kicks off July with Sensational Blues Festival

July 1st, 2013

One of Portland’s great, long-standing traditions for summer fun opens this week – the Waterfront Blues Festival.

This year’s event opens on July 4 (with fireworks at dark over the Willamette) and features four stages with nearly-constant live music from all around the country, including local favorites.

The fun begins at 10:30 AM Wednesday on the Miller stage with the Transcendental Brass Band and culminates in a “Sensational Sunday” lineup featuring the likes of the Taj Mahal Trio, Nikki Hill, the Simon Ticket Band and Robert Plant.

Entry on July 4, 5 and 6 is a suggested donation of $10 (or more) plus two cans (or more) of food per person per day (more if you are able). Sensational Sunday costs $50. You can get a four-day pass for $60. As always, the event benefits the Oregon Food Bank.
