Roses Gone Wild! New Tour starts May 21

May 10th, 2011

We are about to break new ground!

Starting May 21, we are offering a fresh new tell-all tour that dishes the dirt on Portland’s world-famous International Rose Test Garden.

The new “Roses Gone Wild” tour exposes the secrets, fun facts, and behind-the-scenes mysteries of Portland’s blushing beauties. For an introductory price of $8, this engaging 45-minute tour captivates both visitors and residents with the unspoken lore of Portland’s most famous garden.

For a city known for its Rose Festival, rose parades and even its “City of Roses” nickname, most residents and visitors know remarkably little about the Rose Garden. Starting Saturday May 21, 2011, the guided “Roses Gone Wild” tour is brimming with colorful stories and very amusing facts about roses, the rose gardens, and the city of Portland. Portland Walking Tours’ captivating “Resident Experts” (aka guides) will help guests discover answers to dozens of puzzling questions, such as:
  • Why is the legendary blue rose excluded from this garden?
  • Are people really buried there?
  • For our “Rose Bro’s”: Love, Romance, and Sports

The new tour will run several times daily from 10 AM until dusk starting May 21. With special introductory pricing, the tour costs only $8 for ages 8-88 (all others free!).
